Baked masala fish

I love fried fish, although I don’t fry them anymore. I often bake and grill marinated fish, which doesn’t replicate the taste of the fried version, but is still very tasty and healthier, of course.

Recipe:

Fish     1 kg

Coriander powder      1 teaspoon

Chilly powder       1 tablespoon

Turmeric powder    1/2 teaspoon

Ginger paste   2 teaspoons

Oil   2 tablespoons

Yoghurt   1 tablespoon

Lemon juice    1/2 lemon

Salt    2 teaspoons

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C. Place the fish pieces on a baking tray. Mix the rest of the ingredients in a bowl. Marinate the fish and bake for 20 minutes. Then grill or broil it for 10 minutes on each side, or until it gets browned to your liking.

I don’t add oil for salmon, as it’s natural oil oozes out while baking. I used Spanish Mackerel, and the cutlets were thick. The baking time could be halved for thinner pieces of fish. Enjoy!
